The questions locals ask us most
How much does a plumber cost?
We charge a fixed written price for the complete job, agreed before any work begins, so the figure on the quote is the figure on the invoice with no hourly meter running. There are no overtime rates hiding in that number either. A job quoted on a Tuesday costs the same done on a Saturday night, because the price reflects the work rather than the clock.
Do you charge a call out fee?
No, the call out is $0, which means having a licensed plumber assess the problem and quote it costs you nothing whether you go ahead or not. That makes the assessment genuinely risk-free. If the price does not suit, you owe nothing and you have still had a professional look at the problem.
Do you answer calls after hours and on weekends?
Yes, a licensed plumber answers the phone day and night, including weekends and public holidays, because burst pipes and blocked sewers do not keep business hours. Call (02) 9072 0504 any hour and you will speak to a person, not a machine. Why it matters out here: many local houses run a single bathroom built in the fifties or sixties, so a main that stops on a Sunday night cannot simply be waited out.
What work is covered by your warranty?
Every job is backed by our Lifetime Labour Warranty, so if something we installed or repaired is not right, we come back and fix it at no cost. That promise covers workmanship rather than wear and tear, and it is the reason we take the time to fit parts suited to each house's age instead of whatever is closest on the shelf.
Are your plumbers licensed?
Every plumber on the team is fully licensed and insured under licence #275278C, and compliance certificates are provided with the invoice on every relevant job. Licensing matters most where gas, drainage and hot water work intersect with the paperwork your council and insurer expect to see, and all of it is handled as part of the job.

Questions about plumbing on the plateau
Why do drains block so often around here?
The post-war streets were sewered with earthenware clay pipes that crack at the joints in shallow shale ground, and gum roots from the surrounding bushland find those cracks and multiply inside them. Age does the rest. Once a joint opens, roots thread through and catch everything washing downstream, which is why a drain that blocks once tends to block again until the line itself is properly repaired.
Can old clay drains be fixed without excavating the whole yard?
Often yes, because a camera inspection locates the exact failed joint and pipe relining can install a new structural pipe inside the old one from a small access point. Excavation is still the right answer sometimes, particularly where a line has collapsed outright. The difference is that here the decision comes from what the camera actually shows, not from habit or guesswork.
Should I repair or replace my hot water system?
If the cylinder itself is leaking or badly corroded, replacement is the honest answer, but failed valves, thermostats and elements on an otherwise sound tank are usually repairable the same visit. Plenty of local homes are onto their second or third storage unit on original valves and copper, so we always tell you which side of that line your system sits on before quoting either path.
What should I do while waiting for an emergency plumber?
Turn off the water at the meter for a burst, close the gas isolation valve if you smell gas, and switch off a leaking hot water system at its isolation valve, then call us. Those three moves prevent most of the damage that makes a bad night worse. Our emergency plumbing page walks through more make-safe steps, including what to do with an overflowing toilet.
Which areas do you service?
We cover Hornsby Heights and the neighbouring suburbs of Mount Colah, Galston, Mount Kuring-Gai, Asquith and Hornsby, with the same licensed team working across all of them. Being just over a boundary line changes nothing about the service. The vans are stocked for the same post-war pipework whether the job sits on the ridge or down toward Hornsby.

A few practical extras
How do I pay, and do you offer payment plans?
Card, cash and payment plans are all accepted, and the amount is always the fixed written figure agreed before work started, so the invoice holds no surprises.
Can I book maintenance work, not just emergencies?
Please do. Regular servicing catches weeping valves, slow drains and tired flexi hoses before they become ceiling stains. Our maintenance plumbing page explains what a check covers, or contact us to book a time that suits.
Can I read more about the business?
The about page covers who we are and how we work. The short version: a licensed local crew, fixed upfront pricing, and more than a thousand Sydney homeowners who have rated the work five stars.
